Angrignon Park
Length: 6.4 km
A visit to Angrignon Park is never a bad idea, which is especially true if you’re on a bike. Take your time rolling through the park’s lush landscape with a serene pond. Although you may not have picked up your bike in months due to the grueling winter, do not fret, this bike path is good for all skill levels and is separated for bikes and running / walking.
Jean-Drapeau Park Bike Path | from the Old Port to Saint Helen’s Island
Length: 15 km
Take in the nature of the park and the best views of downtown Montreal on this tour through the island. You can start your ride from the Old Port and cross the De La Concorde bridge, take the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit and then the Cosmos Bridge. Also, the Jean-Drapeau Park offers several ways to cool down after a long bike ride, so be sure to check out Jean-Dore Beach or the Aquatic Complex. Take in unparalleled views of downtown and make a day of it by packing a picnic!
Lachine Canal | from Lachine to the Old Port
Length: 17.6 km
This makes for a scenic ride along the water and you will pass by people enjoying a stroll or a picnic. The further eastward you travel, the landscape gradually changes from suburban to urban as you approach the Old Port. The further westward you travel, more green spaces begin to emerge. The path along the canal has an excellent paved surface, no hills, and is quite wide, making it a classic route for its great views of the city!
Montreal River to River Ride Route | from the St. Lawrence River to Rivière-des-Prairies
Length: 45.5 km
This big loop of the island is sure to make you discover areas of the city. Take a rest at the many attractions along the way, such as the Olympic Stadium. Start your ride at the intersection of Berri and de la Commune, right on the Saint Lawrence River, this path will take you through the most charming neighbourhoods to finally reach the Rivière-des-Prairies.
An added bonus: biking is a great way to avoid the classic Montreal potholes! So grab your helmet and your water bottle because you will not want to miss out on riding on these bike paths before the summer is over.
