Do you live in Burlington with your kids? If so, it’s time to think of just how you’re going to keep them entertained in the summer when school is out! The solution is simple, give your kids an action-packed summer at camp. They can meet new friends, learn more about their environment, develop their social skills and a sense of adventure. Summer camps often make the best memories for kids for years to come. Not sure which one to send them to? Check out the best Burlington summer camps 2019 below!
Snap Camp (4-10 Years Old)
Looking to send your kids to a camp that they will actually enjoy? Burlington’s Snap Camp is the perfect option. Your kids will get to experience a full-day program that mixes fun with learning. They’ll get to go on day trips to the museum, zoo, splash pad and wild waterworks. They’ll also create crafts like animal masks, paper airplanes, and enjoy themed days like Sports day, Movie dress up day and Pizza day.
Student Theatres Camp
Let your kids engage their creative juices with acting, singing and dancing with the Little Performer’s program that’s geared to ages 6 to 8, and Intermediate kids 9 to 15 at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre. If you have a teen, you can sign them up for a “Backstage Pass” and allow them to learn what goes on behind the scenes. They can also choose the “Explore Theatre” option to experience all things theatrical with a trip and student-led facility tour. If they love to dance, “Show Stoppers” for ages 12 to 16 lets campers engage in solo, duet and ensemble performances as well as a choreographed performance.
Music Camp
If your kids love music, this summer camp will let them try out a variety of different instruments. Weeks 1 and 3 feature the woodwinds and percussions and weeks 2 and 4 offer brass and percussion instruments. Camp will even be coached by the members of the Burlington Teen Tour Band.
Junior Leaders in Training (9-14 Years Old)
They can learn what it means to be a leader with games that will teach your kids how to become a camp leader themselves in the future. They’ll enjoy activities like mock camp day, a trip to the movies and Orchard Park. Best of all, they’ll learn how to work as a team and develop critical life skills they’ll carry forward into adulthood.
Senior Leaders in Training (9-14 Years Old)
Your pre-teen will gain the skills necessary to become a great leader in the world in a fun and safe environment. Participants will work alongside counsellors and engage in interview training, mentor meeting, and a number of exciting placements. They’ll also earn a certification at the end of the program.
Camp Can Do
Children with and without disabilities can join Camp Can Do to take in a number of exciting activities, special events, daily swim time, and passive games. There will be scavenger hunts, yoga, Disney day, pj parties, leaders vs. campers dodge ball, water day, and so much more!
