Every summer, thousands of people flock to Ottawa to take in one of the greatest music festivals around – Ottawa RBC Bluesfest. For 25 years, Bluesfest has been the largest blues festival in Canada and the second in North America. And each year it has showcased bigger performers from all music types and industries and has now transformed into a festival showcasing a whole variety of artists. Some of the most popular headliners that have taken to the stage include the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foo Fighters, Tom Petty, and Fergie. This year the festival is celebrating its 25th anniversary with an outstanding lineup of international artists. From July 4th till the 14th, hundreds of artists will take to the stage to perform. Each day will feature a big headliner surrounded by many talented international and local artists. The Ottawa RBC Bluesfest is a non-profit charitable event. So you can enjoy the festival and feel good that you’re also giving back to those in need. The festival gives proceeds to a number of charities such as the “We Do Good Things,” “Festival House,” “Blues In The Schools” and “She’s The One” community programs. Bluesfest is also run by volunteers! Want to get free access to the festival? Just become a volunteer! You’ll receive free access when you’re not working, a free meal at the Outdoor Blues Café for every shift, an invite to the Volunteer party, a cool shirt, and a letter of recommendation for hours worked! It’s a win-win!
