Whether it’s you going back to school or your kids, here are our top tips to make the start of the year as smooth as it can be.
Get a calendar/planner
Find what works best for you. Be it a daily or weekly planner, a traditional agenda, monthly calendar hung to your wall or a combination of the above, it just needs to fit you and your type of organization. Get a tool that also looks great to you: you need to like it to increase the chances that you will truly use it on a regular basic.
Make sure you have all the supplies you need
In order to start the school year on the right foot, you will need to ensure you have all the school supplies that you need, including electronic items. Find all the stuff you had put away for the summer and try to reuse them, you will find that most of it is good for another year! Then, make a shopping list and buy the remaining.
Plan a way to balance school with fun
Before starting school make sure you plan to have some fun throughout the year. You can subscribe to an art or sport class or reserve every Thursday night or Sunday afternoon to hang out with friends or do something that you like. One’s brain needs a break when school is out of the picture, at least for a few hours.
Be snacks and lunch ready
Going back to school does not have to mean going back to boring sandwiches and granola bars. There are so many fun and healthy options out there. Get original with your snacks: no-bake energy balls, homemade trail mix, hummus and crackers, etc. As for lunches, Pinterest is full of meal prep ideas.
Stick to a healthy routine
Everyone says it: having a healthy routine is essential for one’s well-being and school performance. Make sure to wake up and go to bed at regular hours, at least on weekdays. Start every morning with a healthy breakfast that includes some sort of protein (nut butter, egg, meat or cheese). Check out our Pinterest Page for breakfast on-the-go, you can’t say you don’t have time for breakfast now! By sticking to a regular routine with regular eating times and sufficient sleep times, you will find yourself having more energy.
Enjoy the last month of summer and get ready for a fun filled school year!
