Anyone that knows Montreal knows that summer is festival season. Music, dance, comedy, art, food, culture, etc. You can find a festival celebrating anything! Food festivals are our favourites because you have the chance to taste unique flavours from all over the world and new twists on food you never thought you would try. Here are the top food festivals to attend this summer in Montreal:
Poutine Fest | July 31 to August 5 | Old Port, Jacques Cartier Pier
After touring many Quebec cities such as Sherbrooke, Brossard and Granby, the Poutine Fest will finally be in Montreal! Go treat yourself with Quebec’s most iconic meal (if you can call fries, cheese curds and gravy a meal) and don’t be shy to try the different twists on traditional poutine. Which one will you pick: seafood poutine, spicy poutine, pulled pork poutine or all dressed poutine?
Night Market | August 17 – 19 | Old Port, Clock Tower Pier
Celebrating Asian cuisine, the Night Market features over 50 of the best Asian restaurants in Montreal. On site, you will also find artisans, concerts, special performances as well as games. Satisfy your taste buds and try food from Thailand, Vietnam, China, Japan and more while being surrounded by dazzling lights and a street festival atmosphere!
First Fridays | August 3, September 7 & October 5 | Olympic Park
Every first Friday of the month, from May to October, the best food trucks of Montreal gather at the Olympic Park to offer Montreal foodies a festive night. On top of the large variety of food you can try, music, outdoor patios, activities and a family zone are there to enjoy. The next First Fridays this year are happening from 4pm – 11pm on August 3, September 7 and October 5.
Bouffons Montreal | July 18 – 19 | De Bleury and Sainte-Catherine Corner
From noon – 11pm, De Bleury and Sainte-Catherine corner transforms into a gourmet open-air village. Only at its 4th edition, this festival promises to please all your food cravings including tacos, paella, ice cream, churros, waffles and more.
