Dundas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Start off your Christmas festivities right and head down to the Downtown Dundas Shopping district to see the annual lighting of the tree. Canada’s oldest lighting ceremony starts at 6:30pm, and if you get there early enough you might be able to enjoy some of the complimentary treats! Enjoy the Harlequin Singers, Dundas Concert Band, music by Joan Ballantyne and of course, Santa Claus.
Dickens Of A Christmas
Beginning on the weekend of November 25 and occurring every weekend until January 14th, your whole family can enjoy this holiday tradition in beautiful downtown Dundas. Starting mid-day, you can enjoy free horse and trolley rides from the Collins Brewhouse, sing along and listen to the carolers, and visit Santa Claus until 3pm.
Christmas in the Pioneer Spirit
Gather the family together and head back in time to this 19th century Gage family home. Fully decorated for Christmas, you can enjoy the pioneer Christmas spirit at the Battlefield House Museum and Park in Stoney Creek. It kicks off the weekend of November 25/26th and continues until December 31st, every Wednesday to Sunday from 12 to 4pm.
Victorian Christmas
Get ready to see the historic Dundurn Castle fully decorated for Christmas. Located in the heart of Hamilton on York Blvd, you can visit every day of the week, except Mondays, starting November 28th until December 31st.
Christmas Evening Tours
You can also head back after dark and join your neighbours at the Dundurn Castle to see it lit up and decorated in the evening. For $30 per person, you can get a full evening of traditional carolers and an extended tour of the home. The shows happen on December 8 – 10th, December 15th – 17th and December 21st – 22nd.
Eat, Drink and Be ‘Mary’
Mark off December 9th on your calendar for this Eat, Drink and Be ‘Mary’ event. You can tackle some gift shopping while enjoying caroling, other exciting activities and even snap a picture with Santa. Plus, parents can enjoy some mulled wine and tasty baked treats, all happening at the Battlefield House Museum & Park in Stoney Creek.
The Big Sing!
It’s time to sing your heart out at The Big Sing! In Ancaster, enjoy a carolling sing-along by the Strata Vocal Ensemble, along with live music, hot cider, and Christmas Tree Awards at the Ancaster Old Townhall on December 15th. It’s fun for the whole family starting at 7pm until 9pm for only $10 per person or $20 per family.
