February 4th kicks off 10 days of winter fun in Hamilton with Winterfest 2017. During this festival, you and the family can explore the city of Hamilton and take in some of the activities that are happening in and around the city to celebrate how much we cherish our Canadian winter. So gear up for some winter fun with some of these festivities that you and the family will love!
Winter Activities at Gourley Park
Head over to Gourley Park to join in on some great family-friendly winter activities. There will be horse and wagon rides to jump on, obstacles courses to challenge you, along with a skating rink, games, face painting, and even some good Canadian lumberjack games like log cutting competitions to really set the Canadian mood off right!
Waterfront Festival of Lights
With the darkened winter evenings, there’s no better time to enjoy the magical display of the Waterfront Festival of Lights. Sponsored by local businesses, individuals and the community, these displays have been made by local classrooms and will light up the Hamilton sky with a dazzling array of coloured figures and designs.
Early Morning Risers
If you’ve got young children who are keen morning birds and you’re looking for something to do bright and early, then bring them over to the Hamilton Children’s Museum. Here, your children can play with others while learning in an interactive and exploratory environment. Plus, there will be treats and coffee for you to indulge in as you get a little time to yourself to mingle with other parents.
Hamilton International Village
Enjoy some live entertainment, and indulge in some tasty local food and beverages, as you watch ice sculptors work their magic, or hop in a horse drawn carriage with the kids. The International Village knows how to celebrate the winter with plenty of ways for the entire family to have some fun.
La Nuit du Frisson Cirque Cabaret
Looking for an adults-only evening out? The Cotton Factory is the place to be for the unique theatrical cabaret show that will be featuring aerial and stilt performances by the Hamilton Aerial Group, along with local artists who have created this magical stage, costumes and theatre design.
