Being a resident at a CLV Group apartment means you’re starting off your apartment décor with a blank slate. Luckily, we’ve put together a list of ways to update some of those not so modern furniture pieces you may have hanging around!
1. Drawer Handles
A simple swap of handles can make a big change to old furniture pieces. Depending on the style of furniture piece you are working with, try adding a handle that stands out or adds a different element to the piece. As an example, add a modern handle to a traditional style drawer.
2. Bookshelves
Add a fun patterned wallpaper or paint the back surface of your bookshelf. This will help to add a pop of colour or texture to your space without being a prominent feature.
3. Lampshades
Have an old lamp hanging around? Replace the lampshade with a more modern or stylish covering. If you want to go an extra step, you could spray paint the base to create a whole new look!
4. Chairs + Couches
Take an old chair or couch and refresh it with a new fabric in a new pattern or colour – creating a modern twist on a classic style.
5. Curtain Rods
Grab a can of spray paint and add a new finish to your old curtain rod – you’d be surprised at what a quick layer of paint can do!
6. Legs to Shelves
Add feet or wheels to a floor sitting shelving unit or table to create a unique piece and add some height. This also makes the unit easier to move around!
7. Curtains
Have a pair of plain curtains? Add a colour or pattern trim to freshen up the look and create a bigger impact than those plain white ones.
